Steve Beard, Chief Consulting Officer, MAP

Steve joined MAP in 2021 after 8 years at BresMed, where he was part of the executive management team developing and growing the business (from 25 staff to close to 200 staff at the end of 2020). It was Steve’s role to provide leadership of the day-to-day consultancy operations, covering the five technical delivery teams. Previously, Steve held a Chief Business Development Officer role, with a specific brief to develop the project pipeline and internal processes for scoping and bidding on projects. Steve also spent 13 years at RTI Health Solutions, as a Global Head and VP of Health Economics (Europe), after originally starting his Health Economic adventure at ScHARR, University of Sheffield, in the late 1990’s.

Andi Orlowski, Director of the Health Economics Unit, NHS

Andi is a health economist and the Director of the Health Economics Unit, an NHS organization that supports health & care, arm's-length bodies, charities industry & academia, locally, regionally and nationally, providing expertise in economics, population health, analytics & evaluations.

Andi is particularly interested in population health analytics especially how to best address health inequalities and the concept of impactibility modelling, finding people most amenable to intervention, and is researching this for his PhD at Imperial College London.

Andi is also a Senior Advisor for NHS England on Population Health Management in the Operations and Information Directorate. Andi works with STPs and ICSs across the country advising and working with them on population health management.

Jasdeep Hayre, Associate Director, Technology Appraisals, NICE

Health Economist Jasdeep has been with NICE for 10 years in a range of technical with responsibility across commissioning and management of contractors and leading on overall economic outputs for safe staffing guidelines.

Darren Spevick, Head of Europe, TSP and Chair of the EMIG Digital Health Special Interest Group

After completing a BSc in Sports Science, Darren went into applied human performance research before embarking in a career in healthcare / life science executive recruitment. Over the last 20 years, Darren has worked with most types of companies from pharma, biotech, CRO, medtech, health services, data and health tech. In 2016 he set up the EMIG Digital Health Special Interest Group where he brings digital companies and EMIG members together.

Andi Orlowski


Andi Orlowski, Director of the Health Economics Unit, NHS

Andi is a health economist and the Director of the Health Economics Unit, an NHS organization that supports health & care, arm's-length bodies, charities industry & academia, locally, regionally and nationally, providing expertise in economics, population health, analytics & evaluations.
